See you Sunday!
In celebration of Illinois’ 200th birthday, the Village of Addison will be hosting a parade on Sunday, August 26th featuring Addison agencies, businesses, service groups, dignitaries… and us! Between all of our groups, we will have around 100 individuals representing the Addison Park District!
Although this is a fun event, we want to be sure we are putting our best foot forward by conducting ourselves in a professional and safe manner. Many of you may have already read over the parade rules and regulations, but they are attached for those that have not yet had the chance. Please take a moment to look them over and get familiarized.
Parking for parade participants will be available at Indian Trail Junior High School, Army Trail Elementary School, and Green Meadows Shopping Center starting at Noon. In addition, Park District staff will be blocking off parking at Army Trail Nature Center for our participants. Parking will be limited, therefore carpooling is highly suggested.
For Park District staff that are participating in the parade and/or Bicentennial Bash, please be aware that we will be wearing our gray “Leisure for your Lifestyle” t-shirts. If you do not have a shirt, please contact Erin Chapa to acquire one.
If there are any APD staff members that would like to participate in the parade/bash, and are unsure if they have been accounted for, please feel free to contact me in the next couple of days! I have placed a sign-up sheet at Community.
Below you will find information/instructions for the day of the parade. Specific directions will be given to staff closer to the event date. Again, please contact me if there are any questions or concerns you may have.
